I am a registered voter in Denton County. I'm writing to ask that you quickly take action to set up voting centers in Denton County so we can vote at any polling place on Election Day, just as we do for early voting.
We are blessed with a very secure voting system in Denton County with paper ballot backup, yet every year, thousands of legally registered voters in our county lose their right to vote on Election Day because Denton does not have voting centers on Election Day as more than 90 other counties in Texas do.
On Election Day now, many Denton voters do their research, then show up at a polling place, only to find that it’s not in their particular precinct. These voters may be coming from work, on their way to work or picking up kids from school. They are Republicans and Democrats and Independent voters. If they are in the wrong precinct, even if they do cast a ballot, it won't be counted.
This is REALLY confusing to the many voters who move to our county from our neighboring counties of Dallas, Tarrant and Collin, where voting centers have been in place on Election Day for years.
I hope you’ll act soon, so all voters in our county will be able to take advantage of this in time for the very important election this November.
